Music News Nashville…

Music News Nashville recently covered our album release! Thanks to Dan Harr for this awesome article!

“At 17, Texan Cody Jasper left his home in Amarillo for the mountains of Colorado, where he started his music career singing and playing lead guitar in Denver rock band The Wildbills. That’s when he wrote “Someday,” one of several blues- and soul-drenched rock ’n’ roll tracks on his debut solo release, Cody Jasper, dropping Feb. 18. Jasper will kick off a multi-state tour with a trio of Texas album release shows: Feb. 20 at Austin’s Continental Club, Feb. 21 at the Blue Light Live in Lubbock and Feb. 22 at Hoot’s Pub in Amarillo.

Produced by Nick Jay, formerly of Jonathan Tyler & the Northern Lights, Cody Jasper contains seven originals and two songs Jasper and Jay co-wrote. Standouts include the slide-driven “Cherry Pie,” the aching ballad “Mona Lisa” and the sweaty crunch-rocker “Evil Woman.” They carry influences from guitar gods Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan to soul men Otis Redding and Sam Cooke and outlaw-countryman Waylon Jennings. But Jasper channels them into something all his own. And it packs a wallop. Just listen to “Someday,” a song about addiction, which glues itself to your ears with staccato guitar strums as it turns that love-hate relationship into a visceral experience — one Jasper finally managed to escape.

With these killer tunes, a national college radio promotional campaign and a kick-out-the-jams live show, Jasper is ready to rock his way across the U.S. — and anywhere else his music will take him.

Upcoming shows include:
Feb. 15 – River Road Ice House, New Braunfels, Texas
Feb. 20 – The Continental Club, Austin
Feb. 21 – The Blue Light Live, Lubbock
Feb. 22 – Hoot’s Pub, Amarillo
